Bali tips from Rachel 'De Huismuts'

Welcome to our newest series on the blog: BALI LOVERS! Here on the blog we'll interviewing fellow-bloggers and (local) friends to share their best Bali tips and favorite hotspots with you. Because we all like Bali and nothing is more fun than sharing that Bali love with you!

For our Dutch book We Like Bali, dé reisgids voor het ultieme eilandleven we interviewed Rachel 'De Huismuts' van Sas from Amsterdam, mom vlogger (she is funny, real and so so beautiful!) and interior stylist ánd yes: a true island lover. She recently made her dream come true of living in Bali for 2 months with husband Willem (aka @daddyhox)and daughter Pip. In our book she told us her 5 best Bali tips - and below we're sharing 3 of those with you!

Rachel: "Bali feels like our second home. The weather, the food, but above all the people are for us thé reason to keep on coming back to Bali. In 2018 we stayed for 2 months with Pip, and we can't wait to come back soon with Rosie."

Rachel's tip 1: Driver Nyoman
Our number one tip is to book driver Nyoman! The happiest guy on the island, always on time and will drive you all around the island. Book him to pick you up from the airport, he'll be waiting for you with your name on a sign. It's so hectic when you arrive at the airport and hundreds of taxi drivers are offering you a ride... send Nyoman a WhatsApp message a few days before your flight and you're all good to go! : +6281916180050

Rachel's tip 2: Four hands massage at Ubud Wana Resort
If you're in to Balinese massages your nééd to go here. My parents stayed here for a night so by accident we discovered this four hands massage and it was the best EVER. Only for this massage I'll return to Bali, haha!

Rachel's tip 3: Coco Resort on Nusa Penida
We fell in love with Nusa Penida. Although more and more tourists found their way to this island, it's still so pure, real and raw. The sceneries will take your breath away. And besides all highlights that you must see (check for the Nusa Penida highlights here, red.) we loved it mostly while just driving around. Passing local villages where we felt like time stood still and you'll be amazed by the crafts of the communities like making coconut oil from fresh coconuts. Coco Resort is the perfect place to stay on Nusa Penida! With the sweetest people and super cute bungalows to sleep in.
