Hope you're ready and excited for the New Year! Whether you're partying your socks of at Potato Head Beach Club in Bali, tanning your way into 2017 in Sydney or snuggling up on the couch with your loved ones and a free flow of oliebollen and appelflappen. We're spending it with our family in The Netherlands so that last one is us, hey hey! :)
This was the year we started vlogging with the Makerschannel, creating and designing our very own Bali Travel Guide and amazing travel adventures with Welikebali. It was also the year of sleeplessness, working 20 hours a day, traveling in Europe this Summer with our families starting up new companies and never not talking about new ideas and new dreams. 2017 will be the year for us to make these new dreams happen and we hope you will too! Thanks so much being a part of it and make sure to travel as much as you can and live life to the fullest!
Last night we we're working at home in Amsterdam on a new project and decided to look back on our favorite 2016 Welike Travel adventures for a moment. Hearts overflowing with love and feeling blessed. Here's to many more, enjoy our top 10 favorites!
1. Nihiwatu, Sumba
A dream trip of a lifetime. The beauty and smiles of Nihiwatu aren't possible to put in any words. Last december we celebrated Eve's birthday here and had the best surf of the year. Still can't believe this piece of paradise Sumba is just an hour flight away from Bali. Still owing you a lot of photos and a video in 2017!

2. Mentawai Islands
It was the second time in life we traveled to these amazing coconut tree covered, white sand, clear blue oceans and epic waves surrounded islands. This time we stayed at the new Hollow Tree's Resort and had an amazing time surf, eat, sleep explore. Blogpost with photos coming online next week!

3. Flores with Le Pirate Explorer
These memories are for a lifetime. Together with our sweetest friends we jumped on the plain to Flores La Buan Bajo to get on the Pirate Explorerboat and discover the beauty of Flores. Hopping from island to island, snorkeling with manta rays, dolphins and sleeping on the ocean, shooting for Free People, Faithfull the brandand more of our other favorite brands... it was a beyond magical adventure!

4. Re-discovering Gili Trawangan
It was a while ago when we went to Gili Trawangan for the last time. We love Meno and Air for it's serenity, but with the new Le Pirate Beach Resort on Trawangan we gave the party island another shot! And we LOVED it and fell back in love with the island. North and West side we're incredibly quiet and bicycling amongst the coconut tree fields was a dream. See our vlogs here!

5. Escaping to the jungle at Hideout
With nothing but the sound of the river, crickets, birds and spinning little Kitty cat, staying at this little bamboo house in the middle of the jungle was beyond magical.. no reception, just one with nature and enjoying the beauty of life.

6. SUP'ing and manta ray snorkeling on Nusa Lembongan
On of our favorite things to do to unwind and relax is a tropical weekend getaway to our favorite island Nusa Lembongan. Last November we went again with the 4 of us and enjoyed every minute of it. We went snorkeling at Nusa Penida's manta point, what a beauty! We will definitely explore more of Nusa Penida in 2017.
7. We went to Ibiza!
Traveling in Europe this Summer was a dream. Together we went to Ibiza with Buddha to Buddha and we had the best time ever!

8. Ubud Flower Bath
Even though we made Bali our islandhome since 2009, you might not believe it but... we never had a flower bath! The ONE thing you must do in Bali and we tell everyone to do. So we thought what the heck we need to get into one and oh we did! We stayed at the amazing Ubud Village Resort(on one of our frequent vegan foodie trips to Ubud) and had an incredible time.

9. Uluwatu
A year is not complete with a ton of trips to The Bukit. The beauty of the island is that every weekend can be a little mini-holiday. Each time we try new places to stay and this November we had an amazing time at The Gravity. Pool hangs, surfsesions and Poke Bowls in Uluwatu... life is good!
10. The adventure of creating our own Travel Guide!
Well, last but not least - if something was an adventure, it was definitely the making of our Welike Bali Travel Guide! Earlier this year we decided it was time to curate all our Bali favorites into 1 book - and we finished it within a few months. Team no sleep, digging into our decade archives of photos, crashing computers and writing and editing till our Bali baby was just perfect. Issue 001 is out with our 250 all-time favorite spots and we are overwhelmed with all the amazing respons of you guys! We have a private Facebook group with our customers and it's so awesome to see everyone we can help you enjoying it to the fullest!
